Separate sealed bids for Water System Improvements generally consisting of:  C900 PVC water distribution system and disinfection system piping:  4" - 1,174 lineal feet (LF), 6" - 8,366 LF, 8" - 112 LF, 10" - 134 LF and 12" - 1,609 LF; 2" Schedule 80 PVC - 29 LF; gate valves with riser boxes:  2" - 1 EA; 4" - 7 EA, 6" - 19 EA, 12" - 1 EA; 6" fire hydrant assembly on new main - 3 EA; 1" service tap with appropriately sized tapping saddle, corporation stop, 3 LF service line and connection to existing service line - 69 EA; 1" HDPE CTS service line - 280 LF; install new 6" carrier pipe in existing 12" steel casing pipe - 50 LF; 6" HDPE directional drilling - 263 LF; 16 connections to the existing distribution system; one new meter pit; three sample hydrant assemblies; removal and replacement of 3,311 SY of 3" thick asphalt surfacing; 6" thick concrete cross pan removal and replacement - 152 SF; removal and replacement of 6" thick CDOT reinforced concrete surfacing including full depth flowfill - 719 SF; concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement - 12 LF; seeding at select locations; sod removal and replacement; and appurtenances together with alternates for copper tracer wire and detectible metallic underground tape will be received by the Town of Eads at the office of GMS, Inc., 611 North Weber, Suite 300, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 until 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time, March 22, 2017, and then at such office publicly opened and read aloud.

 

A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Town of Eads (Owner) negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with the Bid.

 

Attention is called to the fact that the funding for this project has requirements that include, but are not limited to, provisions for Davis-Bacon wages that set forth the minimum salaries and wages within the contract documents that must be paid on the project along with weekly payroll reporting.  The current applicable Heavy Decision at the time of advertising is No. CO170013 02/03/2017 CO13 Modification Number 3 dated 02/03/2017.  The applicable modification of the Heavy Decision will be locked in within ten days of the bid date.  The Contractor must insure that employees and applications for employment are not discriminated against by their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.  Bidders shall thoroughly review these requirements and comply with same if awarded the project.

 

Attention is called to the fact that this project is subject to Section 436 of P.L. 113-76, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014 wherein all iron and steel products provided on this project must be produced in the United States.  Appropriate documentation must be provided to validate that this requirement is satisfied.

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of GMS, Inc. located at 611 N. Weber, Suite 300, Colorado Springs, CO  80903 upon payment of $140.00 for each set.

 

Any planholder returning the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS in good condition within 30 days of bid opening will be refunded $40.00.
