The junior knowledge team competed at the Flagler Meet on December 1. The team placed fourth behind Swink, Wiley, and Holly. The Hawks scored 28 points on the written round, putting them in the first room of competitors for the entire meet; but the Wiley team, which was in the second room for the final round scored 13 points, catapulting them into second. The team’s next meet is December 8 at Springfield.

The high school indoor track team competed at an indoor meet on the School of Mines campus November 30, gaining valuable experience for their next indoor track meet and the spring track season.

The junior high basketball team competed against the Holly Wildcats C team on December 4. The girls played the first half, with the Hawks scoring 20 points to the Wildcats’ 8 points. The second half the boys competed. Holly scored 8 points; Plainview scored 4 points. This was the Hawks’ first game of the season; their next game is December 7 with Cheyenne Wells.

The elementary students have been busy working on their soapbox derby cars in the enrichment program as well as getting ready for the holiday Christmas program.

Plainview will be hosting the annual senior citizen Christmas meal Wednesday, December 6 (Pictures to follow in the next installment).

The senior class is hosting its fall carnival Friday, December 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come join in the fun and enjoy some soup: chili or potato.
