A storm system moving across the state Friday brought rain to Kiowa County and blizzard conditions to Lincoln, Elbert and Douglas Counties. Rain and snow potential remains in the forecast for the weekend and throughout the coming week as a series of Pacific disturbances enter the state.

Saturday will see a high in the mid-60s under sunny skies before falling to the mid-30s overnight. A chance of rain and snow appears after 5:00 a.m., however less than one-tenth inch of precipitation is expected.

The potential for snow, followed by rain after 9:00 a.m., increases Sunday morning and continues through the day as an upper tough makes its way across the state. The high is expected to reach the mid-50s before falling to around the freezing mark overnight.

Look for mostly sunny skies Monday as the high returns to the mid-60s. Upper 30s are expected over night, with a slim potential for rain mixing with snow after midnight.

Rain and snow become more likely Tuesday with mostly cloudy skies and a southeast wind gusting to 30 miles-per-hour expected. The high will be in the low 60s. Winds will shift to the east overnight, continuing to gust as high as 30 mph, and snow becomes likely.

Snow is expected to continue Wednesday morning before shifting to rain for the remainder of the day. A north wind continues in the 15 to 20 mph range, and the high reaches to the mid-60s.
