Corn Growers Contribute $10,000 to Wildfire Relief
The National Corn Growers Association's (NCGA) Feed, Food & Industrial Use Action Team recently agreed to contribute $10,000 in support of wildfire-relief efforts within Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
NCGA also drew attention to those in need of relief assistance with NCGA CEO Chris Novak's recent column about the wildfire's devastation.
For anyone looking to provide help to producers impacted by the wildfires, Colorado Farm Bureau has activated a disaster fund, and the Colorado Cattlemen's Association and the Northeast Colorado Cattlemen's Association has also set up relief efforts.
During Agriculture Day at the Capitol last week, Colorado Ag Council Chair Julie McCaleb reported that the Cattlemen's associations have so far raised about $150,000 in their efforts, and Colorado Farm Bureau had raised an additional $80,000-plus.
Farm Credit of Southern Colorado and other farm credit organizations recently contributed $25,000 to the relief effort.
