We surely did receive some much needed moisture this past week.  I would always rather receive rain than snow.

Clinton and Wilma Evans, former Towner residents, will be celebrating their 68th Wedding Anniversary on January 30th.  Their address is Box 187 - Tonkowa, OK 74653 and I hope lots of people will send them a card

Susan Greenfield went to Sterling, CO this past Thursday to attend her Aunts funeral on Friday.  She spent the rest of the weekend with her dad, Norm.

Evan and Jen Hopkins and children and Cheri Hopkins went to Sublett, KS on Saturday to watch Layton Hopkins play basketball. After the game, they met Kenton and Brecken Mangan and children at "Old Chicago" in Garden City, to celebrate Layton Hopkins 8th birthday and Knox Mangans 6th birthday.  Cheri Hopkins returned home Saturday evening and the rest of them spent the night in Garden City and went to the new "Carrot Cove" water park for part of the birthday celebration.  On Sunday, Evan, Jen and children and Christy Hopkins went to the Cheri Hopkins home for dinner in honor of Layton's birthday.  Happy Birthday Layton and Knox.

Cora Coffman's granddaughter Kelli Chavez and husband Sonny came Sunday to help her do some chores.  Her grandson Anthony Kern and family of Cheyenne Wells and her son Cecil Coffman of Trinidad, joined them for supper Sunday evening.  Cecil stayed over as he had appointments in the area the next day.

Larry and Judy Tuttle's daughter Kim has been here visiting this past week.  On Friday, they took Kim to Limon where they met her sister, Rhonda, who took her on to the airport to fly home.

Dennill Splitter and Susan Specht went to Kansas City over the weekend to watch their daughters, Alyssa Splitter and Paige Specht play in basketball games.  Dennill came home Sunday and Susan will watch the girls play again on Tuesday before returning home.

Merle and Carol Shalberg went to Garden City, KS on Saturday to watch their grandson Dawsen play in a basketball tournament. After the games, they went out to supper with Dawsen and his dad, Steve Shalberg.

Vern and JoAnn Harris hosted dinner for their sons, Rick and Tim in honor of their birthdays.  Their daughter Tammy and grandson Tyler also came.  Happy Birthday Rick and Tim.

The High School Knowledge Bowl teams and their sponsor, Ruth Fees traveled to Eads on Friday to compete.  There were around 40 teams competing that day.

I picked up our grandson Kyle in Eads when the Knowledge Bowl was finished and we went to Lamar to do some shopping.

Burl and Cathy Scherler attended the Flying Farmers Convention in Yuma, AZ last week.

Freda Schmidt had Sunday dinner at the home of her daughter Dorcas Berggren and family.

I had a nice phone visit with Barb Gitchel this past week. She said to tell everyone hello for her and Larry.

Next Sunday, there will be a basket dinner honoring Maynard and Dorothy Seaman, who have been here pastoring the Sheridan Lake Bible Church this past year.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  We wish the Seaman's all the best in their future endeavors.

A busy week coming up with several basketball games for the Plainview Hawks.  Come on out and support their teams.  The Junior High Basketball teams had their tournament last week in Cheyenne Wells.

Their season is almost over.

Have a great week!!
