Certainly been having a mix of weather lately. Sure glad we didn't get the terrible winds they had up along I-25. The ice this morning wasn't pleasant, but we do need the moisture.
Our communities would like to extend their condolences to the family of Cora Coffman, who lost her sister Cathy, this past week. Cathy lived in Illinois, but grew up in the Sheridan Lake area.
Larry and Judy Tuttle went to Castle Rock on Thursday to spend several days with their daughter Rhonda Koehn and family. Their other daughter, Kim flew in for a visit and returned to Towner with them on Monday.
Several parents traveled to Springfield on Thursday to watch the Plainview boys and girls teams play basketball. Dick and I had a nice visit with Jim Howard, former Sheridan Lake resident. Jim lives in Springfield and his granddaughter was playing ball for Springfield. He said to tell everyone up here hello for him.
The Plainview Scholastic teams and their sponsor, Ruth Fees traveled to Manzanola on Friday to compete with several schools. They didn't place, but had a good day.
Cora Coffman went to Lamar on Wednesday on business and had lunch with Bob and Margaret Troutman before returning home. On Thursday, she went to Eads to watch her great-grandson Weslee play basketball.
On Friday, Vern and JoAnn Harris went to Las Animas to help their great granddaughter, Reagan Pryor celebrate her 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday Reagan!
Carol Shalberg went to Lakin, KS on Friday to watch her grandson Dawsen Shalberg play basketball.
Linda Cochran and her son Ryan came last weekend to visit her parents Denis and Theresa Weber and her brother Jerry and son Quinton. Quinton and Ryan had lots of fun riding bikes.
David and Dennill Splitter and children were busy this weekend with wrestling in Limon on Thursday and a tournament in Walsh on Saturday. Their son Benjiman wrestles for Eads.
A week ago Sunday, all of the Stum and Moser families helped Rozzalin Stum, daughter of Kirbi and Shay Stum celebrate her 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday Rozzalin! Rozzalin and her sister, Karigen spent a few days with grandma and grandpa so they could play with their cousins, Noe and Elsie.
This past Saturday, all the Stum clan and other friends gathered at the church to help Katelyn Stum celebrate her 8th birthday. Happy Birthday Katelyn!
On Jan. 7th, Monte and Linda Stum traveled to Russell, KS to have Christmas with Linda's side of the family.
On Dec. 31, Freda Schmidt's home was full of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who had come to help her celebrate Christmas.
