Can you believe that we will be turning our clocks ahead next Sunday to Daylight Savings Time and Spring is just a couple weeks away.

We've already had quite a few Spring days, hope we don't have too many wintry days come Spring.

It was a busy week with the Regional basketball games in LaJunta on Friday and Saturday. There were several close games with the outcome decided in the last few minutes. Cora Coffman and I watched all the games on Saturday. The South Baca, Eads and Kit Carson girls and the Holly, Cheyenne Wells and Kit Carson boys are on their way to the State Tournament in Greeley next week. Congratulations to these teams and we wish them the best of luck at the State Basketball Tournament.

When I arrived home from church on Sunday, we had visitors at our home. Ed Bertram and his grandson Mark from Illinois had stopped by to visit. Ed and his wife Ora lived in Towner several years ago and Ed managed the Bird Seed Factory. Our condolences to Ed and family on losing Ora this past December. I will always remember Ora for her great sense of humor and her homemade donuts. It sure was good to see Ed and we enjoyed reminiscing about the good ole' days.

Last weekend, Freda Schmidt and Bryan, Dorcas and Abby Berggren went to Hutchinson to visit with Jim and Esther Caywood. While there, they attended a benefit German supper and silent auction to raise money for the Central Christian School. Also, Dorcas attended her 40th High School Graduation reunion over the weekend. She enjoyed seeing many of her former classmates.

Merle and Carol Shalberg attended the Open House in honor of Margaret Parker's 100th birthday on Saturday.

Theresa Weber's brother and wife, Marty and Teri Gorman from Texas

came to visit family in the area last week.

Cora Coffman spent Friday in Cheyenne Wells helping baby sit her

twin great granddaughters, Ilee and Brystn Kern.

Lots of little friends came and helped the O'Neil sisters celebrate

their birthdays on Saturday at the Towner Community Hall. Happy

Birthday girls!!

Spring break is coming up - March 10 - 19. Have a great break!!

Next Sunday, March 12th, Steve Desmond will perform in concert at

the Sheridan Lake Bible Church at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Everyone is

invited to attend. On April 7th and 8th, the Sheridan Lake Bible Church

will be hosting their Women's Retreat. Keep the date reserved and more
