Irene L. Beaman

October 5, 1918 - February 3, 2017

Funeral services for Irene Beaman were held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Eugene Birt officiating. Interment was at the Holly Cemetery.

Irene Lillian (Berndt) Beaman was born on October 5, 1918 in Hamilton County, Kansas to Frederick and Florence (Herren) Berndt. She was the oldest of eight children.

She passed away at the Holly Nursing Care Center on February 3, 2017 at the age of 98.

Irene lived most of her life in the Holly area.

Irene and her husband, Wilbert farmed North of Holly for many years then moved to Holly in 1976.

Wilbert passed away in 1989 but Irene continued to live in her own home until 2012 when she moved to Holly Nursing Care Center.

Irene's passion was quilting. Each of her children and grandchildren have quilts that were made especially for them and they cherish each one.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Joy Beaman of St. David, Arizona; son, Delmas Beaman and wife, June of Sheridan Lake, Colorado; sister, Joy Stalford of Holly, Colorado; sister-in-law, Rozella Berndt of Peyton, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Linda Beaman of Holly, Colorado;

six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Berndt; husband, Wilbert Beaman; sons, Albert Beaman, Delbert Beaman, Edward Beaman; brothers, Roy, Oscar, Fred and George; sisters, Esther Trout and Edith Berndt; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Beaman.
