Obituary - Robert Russell Jarrett

Robert Russell Jarrett born in Albuquerque, New Mexico April 3, 1950, to Andrew and Ella Mae Jarrett. Welcoming him home to Bonaguidi Road were sisters Carita, Judy, and Love. 

Robert was known as Bob by all at a young age. He attended Barcelona Elementary, Harrison Jr High, and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1968. At this time, the family attended Bethel Baptist Church. 

After graduating from high school, Bob took a trip to Europe to downhill ski, and Hawaii where he learned to surf. 

In 1970, he joined and served in the National Guard before joining the Army full time. After serving in the military, Bob moved back to Albuquerque. In 1983, he graduated from Albuquerque University with a degree in business administration and an emphasis in accounting. He lived in New Mexico, Southern Colorado, or Texas all of his life.

Bob continued to enjoy the outdoors and water skiing, downhill skiing, and baseball. For several years, Bob lived near the Gulf of Texas where he fished extensively. He enjoyed cooking, especially posole, jambalaya, and enchiladas. Additionally, he was a self-taught guitar player with an expressive voice.

February 25, 2024, Robert Jarrett died in his home in Levelland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Dillard Jarrett and Ella Mae Castle Jarrett; sister, Carita Black; infant brother, Andrew Dillard, Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Gene Johnson and John “Jack” Liebl. 

He is survived by sisters Judy Cox (Jim) and Love Liebl, as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins.
