15 Years Ago - March 20, 2009

  • The Town of Eads Board of Trustees decided to re-advertise a part time position to clearly state all applicants must reside within the Eads city limits.
  • Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: A few ducks on the pond at the ranch. If it doesn’t rain soon, they will have to paddle around in the mud.

25 Years Ago - March 19, 1999

  • April 26 has been tentatively set to finalize a contract between the Colorado & Kansas Railroad and the Colorado Department of Transportation to begin service on Towner Rail Line.

40 Years Ago - March 23, 1984

  • Sunday, a blizzard-like storm ripped through eastern Colorado dumped an official 8 inches of the white stuff in Eads. Lamar officially had 13 inches. Drifts in Eads were 4-5 feet. Monday, temperatures climbed to 50-55.
  • St. Patrick’s Day, Trix Miller entertained a group of elderly ladies to a delightful luncheon at her home.

50 Years Ago - March 22, 1974

  • Senior Bruce Stavely and junior teammates Brent Frazee and Glen Davis were picked on the 1974 Denver Post & Rocky Mountain News All-Tourney teams.
  • An outlook offered by a panel of scientist at the 87th Annual Research conference at CSU, stated that nuclear and solar will be used as substitutes for fossil fuels for heating and cooling, but neither wind nor wood energy show much possibility for such use.
