Violet Sneyd

Prairie Pines is honored to participate in the 2023 Arkansas Valley Fair Silver King & Queen competition.  This year, Prairie Pines has nominated the following individuals to represent our facility.

Robert “Bob” Ashmore is our King and will compete against other area nursing homes and assisted living residences nominations.

Bob was born in 1942 and retired as an operator of the Coors Corporation.

Bob was married to Donna Ashmore the love of his life until her passing. The couple met in high school.  They had four children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Bob and his family lived in many places around Colorado, but he really loves the Yampa Valley of Colorado, where he hopes to go and visit again.  Bobs motto is “always have fun”, and his advice is “don’t get old!”

Bob enjoys, money origami, 3D puzzles, hunting, shooting, and reading.

We wish Bob the best in the competition.

Cecile “Dianne” Fleshman is our Queen and will compete against other area nursing homes and assisted living residences nominations.

Dianne was born in 1950 and was a homemaker.

She was married to the love of her life Gerald in 1969 until his passing.  The two met while cleaning out feed bunks at Smith Cattle Company.  They have two children, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Dianne’s husband was a veteran of the Air Force.  Dianne has lived in Colorado, Texas, and Tennessee.

Her life motto is “Live life to the fullest and enjoy it.”  Her advice “is never get married a second time.”

Dianne loves to garden, paint, and do crafts.

We wish Dianne the best in the competition.

Both residents will travel to Rocky Ford August 16.

They will participate in an interview and show their talents.  They will be treated to lunch and a day of fun.

Prairie Pines Assisted Living is excited to help our residents participate in community events and wishes all nominees the best of luck.
