Schleining Genetics Returns to LCC for Cattle AI Seminar

Schleining Genetics will return to Lamar Community College in March for its popular artificial insemination (AI) course: Artificial Insemination Management.  This is an intensive two credit, four-day class taught by Dallas Schleining.  It is designed for individuals who have little to no experience with bovine reproduction as well as those who have taken an AI course in the past.

Artificial Insemination Management will give an introduction to AI, take participants through the process, and examine specific aspects of the process such as sire selection and herd management. This course will give participants immediately applicable information and extensive hands-on experience.

“Dallas Schleining is one of the top beef geneticists in the state, so this is an exciting opportunity for our students to learn from his experience,” said Greg Cash, Agriculture Faculty at LCC.  “This course allows students to gain a valuable skill in a very hands-on environment.”

This course at LCC will run Thursday through Sunday, March 10-13.  For those unable to attend at LCC, there will also be two seminars hosted in Ault, Colorado.  The first seminar will be March 31-April 3 and the second will be April 14-17.  All courses are eligible for two college credits.
