Targeting the new big game hunter, join CPW for a seminar covering elk biology, habitats, and hunting strategies.

Tony Dymek, northeast region hunting and angling outreach assistant, says “Elk hunting in Colorado is one of the most enjoyable big game hunting pursuits.  This seminar is a great place to start learning how to hunt elk.”

Now is a great time to be a youth hunter in Colorado! Join CPW staff and learn about youth opportunities, places to go, and tips on developing youth and family hunting partners.

“More and more parents are choosing to spend quality family time outdoors,” said Dymek. “Not only are these families building future hunting partners and unforgettable memories, but teaching respect for nature, personal ethics, independence, and responsibility.”

“From the white-tail deer on the plains to the mule deer of the rugged Rockies, and everywhere in between, deer hunting provides opportunities for hunters to chase game and fill their freezers,” said Dymek.

“So you know where to hunt, you’ve sighted in your rifle or bow, and you are ready to pull the trigger if the opportunity allows, said Posthumus. “Now comes the hard part: field dressing and packing out your harvested game.  Are you ready?”

Join CPW for a seminar and learn how to field dress and quarter big game, leave evidence of sex, regulations on tagging your game, and basics on butchering.  Presentations will use a combination of videos, PowerPoint and equipment demos.
