John Martin Reservoir

The current water temperature is around 67 degrees and the water level is around 8 feet down. The fishing is rated as good for mainly boat anglers. The pan fish are biting well and anglers are catching plenty of crappie and sun fish on jigs. The best fishing has been near the dam. Anglers are catching other fish species such as wiper, drum, and catfish, but the fishing for these species has been much slower as of recently.

Trinidad Lake

The current water temperature remains near 60 degrees. The fishing from the south shore has been good. The fish that are being caught around the lake have been caught by anglers using worms and PowerBait. Reilly canyon is fishing poorly with anglers catching primarily small perch. The catfish bite has been very slow due to low river water levels. Boat anglers have been catching mainly trout and walleye. Worm harnesses and trolling have worked in water depths around 20 to 30 feet.
