106 pounds - Ben Van Wyk won by pin over D. Artagnan Brown from Peyton in 0:28; and won by pin over Axel Martinez from Dumas in 0:43.  Van Wyk was the winner of the 106 pound bracket and took home his 1st place medal and a nice bracket for his work.

145 pounds – Seth Splitter was divided into a two bracket weight class.  In his bracket he won by pin over William Foran from Dumas in 0:36; and won by pin over James Steerman from McClave in 5:02.  He was awarded the bracket for this side of the weight class and went on to wrestle the winner of the other side which is came out a little short and lost by decision to Wyatt Lee from Peyton, 3-8.  Splitter took home the 2nd place medal.

152 pounds – Reagan Lane went all pins for the day getting falls over Sam Moore from Cheyenne Wells in 0:44;  Anderson from Crowley County in 0:45; Marco Marquez from McClave in 3:59; Ethan Hebberd from Walsh in 5:27; and Jimmy Mathews from Peyton in 1:27.  Lane brought home both the 1st place medal and a nice bracket.

160 pounds – Trevor Randel lost by fall to Trystan Hanks from Peyton in 1:27; but went on to pin Paul Hernandez from Dumas in 1:19; Dawson Roesch from McClave in 1:27; and P.J. Schurr from Crowley County in 3:36.  Randel finished the tournament in 3rd place and brought home the bronze medal.

160 pounds – Bryce Batterton went the distance with P.J. Schurr from Crowley County but came up short, 4-7; lost by fall to Levi Morris from Baca County in 1:33; and finished up with a nice pin over Paul Hernandez from Dumas in 1:27.  Batterton was unable to place in the tournament.

170 pounds – Rhett Uhland won by fall over teammate Trent Rittgers in 0:37; and went into overtime with Dawson Worley from Cheyenne Wells getting the takedown and winning 7-5.  Uhland stood on top of the award’s stand and received his 1st place medal and bracket.

170 pounds – Trent Rittgers had a tough match against Dawson Worley from Cheyenne Wells getting the early takedown but lost by fall in the 2nd period in 3:40; and lost by fall to teammate Rhett Uhland in 0:37.

182 pounds – Trent Mitchek had a nice 2nd period pin over Teo Dorado from McClave in 3:24; and had to hurry up and wait to wrestle his next opponent, Christian Shilling from Peyton as it was after a couple breaks in the tournament but he managed to stay focused and won by decision, 7-2.  Mitchek was Eads’ 5th bracket winner for the day and awarded his 1st place medal.

220 pounds – Will Palmer had a tough day but for his first year wrestling has been working hard in practice and shows signs of improvement at every tournament.  He had losses by pin to Hunter Watkins from Crowley County in 0:51; Brian Flores from Hugoton in 1:05; Ken Cox from McClave in 0:16; and Chris Gutierrez from Dumas in 0:56.  Palmer was unable to place in the tournament.

Eads will be wrestling on Saturday, January 23 at the Strasburg Wrestling Tournament where they are sure to see some good competition.  The start time is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
