Snow will make a return appearance in many areas over the coming days, along with overnight lows that will approach zero in some areas.

Eastern Plains

Frigid overnight temperatures will be the rule for Colorado’s eastern plains over the weekend. Lows will be in the teens Friday night, and further falling into the single digits Saturday. Teens return overnight Sunday.

Friday’s highs will range from the low to mid-30s in northeast Colorado to the low 40s further south.

Saturday brings a mixed bag of daytime highs. While the Sterling and Fort Morgan area will hover around freezing, Limon and Eads will reach the low 40s, while Springfield and Trinidad will see low 50s. Norther areas may see some snow later in the day.

Most of the plains will be around freezing Sunday. For Christmas day, northeast Colorado remains chilly while the southern corner returns to 40s and even mid-50s around Trinidad.

West Slope

Snow will continue in the northwest mountains Friday, and temperatures remain mostly below freezing. Further south, some snow can be expected in the San Juan mountains though little will accumulate.

Saturday’s high temperatures will be mostly in the low 40s, with upper 20s further north. Snow will wind down Saturday night. Another disturbance moves into the area Sunday, with snow returning overnight, likely continuing through Monday night.

Overnight lows will be mainly in the mid- to upper teens throughout the weekend.
