Flags will be lowered Monday to honor Staff Sergeant Diobanjo Sanagustin

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff September 17 to honor U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Diobanjo Sanagustin, was died September 4 in Afghanistan supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

Sanagustin, 32, is survived by his wife, son, and parents. He was assigned to B Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.

Boat Ramp, Inspection Station Closing Sunday at Rampart Reservoir due to Low Water

Due to lower water levels in Rampart Reservoir and related safety concerns, the management partners of the reservoir site will close the boat ramp and watercraft inspection station for the remainder of the season, starting at 5 p.m., Sunday, July 15.
Management partners include Colorado Springs Utilities, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the U.S. Forest Service. The decreased water levels in Rampart Reservoir are affecting the operability and safety of the boat ramp for launching and loading trailered/motorized boats.

CPW Asks for Help After Numerous Animals Shot with Blow Darts

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials are asking the public for help solving a rash of wildlife harassment cases involving animals shot with blow darts.

Ducks, rabbits, Canada geese, squirrels and other animals have been the targets of blow darts recently in the Colorado Springs area. In some cases, the darts injured the animals. But at least one rabbit has died from its injury.
