William R. Kochis, 84, after an eleven-year battle, succumbed to metastatic prostate cancer October 4, 2021, at his home in Washington, D.C. Bill Kochis was born November 15, 1936, in Matheson to John and Ruth Kochis.

Alice Jean, preferring to be called Jeany or Jean, was born June 14, 1933, to Lawrence and Grace (Herschler) Weisdorfer. The eldest of four children, Jean spent her childhood years growing up on a farm in the Prairie Queen District North of Haswell. Jean attended her first years of school at Prairie Queen and later rode the school bus to Eads for grade school.

(The Center Square) - Colorado officials said Wednesday that the individual confirmed to have the COVID-19 variant B.1.1.7 and another individual that possibly has the variant are both personnel with the Colorado National Guard.
The Colorado State Laboratory confirmed the COVID variant in a male individual in his 20s on Tuesday, the first confirmed case in the U.S. The individual is in isolation and has no travel history, officials said.
