A crash early Friday morning on Interstate 25 near Walsenburg claimed the life of one person while seriously injuring another

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a hit and run crash that occurred Saturday night in Huerfano County.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) announced that the state is awarding $6.4 million in grant funding  for wildfire mitigation efforts.

Trenda Jean Howard was born July 20, 1962, in Friona, Texas. Trenda went to be with the lord on December 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

Trenda graduated from Plainview High School near Sheridan Lake, in 1980 where she began her journey to being a teacher, coach, and amazing mentor.

Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration's Disaster Field Operations Center-West reminds small nonfarm businesses in 13 Colorado counties and neighboring counties in Kansas of the November 29, 2018, deadline to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury. These low-interest loans are to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in the following primary counties that began January 23, 2018.

In 2004, Colorado enacted a renewable energy standard (RES), which has informed energy diversification by requiring Colorado utilities to increase their share of electricity from renewable sources. Each investor-owned utility must achieve 30% renewable generation by 2020, and for one utility, a single project recently played a crucial role to keep them on target to meet Colorado's RES.
