Steve Poet is an agricultural education teacher at the High Plains High School in Seibert. Although he has been working with kids for 20 years, this will be his fifth year at High Plains High School. He is the kind of invested teacher that all students hope to have when entering a high school ag program. Poet grew up in a rural setting himself, and with years of experience he has developed quite the green thumb.

Norman Dean Travis was born April 30, 1931, to Orvetta and Al Travis. He was raised by Orvetta's parents, Roy and Gertie George, or as you would hear him call them, Mom and Dad.

Tanner Scott Hougham, 27, of Burlington, died November 2, 2020. Tanner was born in Goodland, Kansas, June 8, 1993, to Richard and Benita Hougham. He was welcomed home to Arapahoe by his big sister, Jessica, and soon met his brother, Tim.

Betty Jane Weber, 89, of Burlington passed away with her family by her side May 29, 2020.
Betty was born on a farm near Eads July 17, 1930. The youngest of 11 children, she grew up during the "dust bowl" years of the Great Depression.
