Pesticide license recertification class offered in Lamar

Prowers County Extension Office is offering an in-person Pesticide license recertification class.

Pesticide Applicator licenses are valid for three years, expiring on the applicator's birthday. During this three-year period, the applicators are required to earn continuing education credits to be eligible to renew their license without having to retest.

The workshop offered by Prowers County Extension meets the core requirements for Private and Commercial Pesticide Applicators licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Chad William Ray

January 1, 1972 - October 9, 2021

Chad Ray was born to Richard and Barbara (Passig) Ray January 1, 1972, in Lamar. He primarily grew up in Lamar, but briefly lived in Golden as a young child while his father served in the Colorado State Patrol. 

Growing up, Chad enjoyed art, sports and arcade games. He was a gifted tennis player and was even offered a college tennis scholarship. Chad was known as Opie because of his white-blond hair.

Golden Plains Insurance is once again proud to announce its annual scholarship award. In recognition of the Golden Plains Insurance Agency's 10-year anniversary under the ownership of Nick Palmer, this year the company will be awarding a $2,000 scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic school year to a deserving 2022 high school graduate with a desire for successful completion of higher education, either academic or vocational.
