A celebration of life memorial service for lifelong Lamar resident Melvin Ray Lauderdale will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ian Blacker officiating. Inurnment will follow at the McClave Cemetery.
Per Melvin's request cremation will take place.
Xander Sharpe Rowan

A celebration of life for lifelong Lamar and Wiley resident Xander Rowan will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Lamar Christian Church with Pastor Mike Schneider officiating. Interment will take place at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Early Childhood Education classes are being offered on weekends by Lamar Community College.

Charlotte VanMeter Rogers was born to Alfred E. VanMeter and Edna L. Burkhart VanMeter January 25, 1941, in Denver and passed away August 27, 2021, at her home in Lamar with her family by her side.
Charlotte attended East High School in Denver. She married Jameson (Jim) Rogers May 18, 1957.
Vernon Lee Appel
August 14, 1938 - August 26, 2021
Vernon was born August 14, 1938, at Kit Carson to Tobias and Freda Appel and passed away August 26, 2021, at the Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs at the age of 83.
The Tri-State 9/11 Tribute, honoring active military, first responders, and veterans, will take place September 11, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for the parade and then from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Prowers County Fairgrounds in Lamar.
The event is the brainchild of Doug Harbour, a Vietnam War veteran and longtime medical technician, who launched it in 2010 to recognize the efforts of first responders and the sacrifices of veterans.
George 'Skip' Ruedeman

Skip was born in Louisville, Kentucky, May 12, 1945, and departed this world August 13, 2021. Skip grew up in Fern Creek, Kentucky, and enlisted in the Air Force. There he worked on the F-100 Super Sabre. His fascination with airplanes had begun.
