Alice Mae Webb 

1915 -2020

Alice Mae Webb was born July 27, 1915, to Joseph P. Cooper and Jean Bulloch Cooper on the family homestead six miles north of Karval. Alice was the third of five children born to this union.

The Cooper children walked two miles to a one room school called Rush Creek through the eighth grade. Alice also attended Karval and Hugo schools. She graduated from Hugo school with the class of 1934.

Bobbie L. Stogsdill

October 17, 1940 - November 2, 2019

Bobbie Stogsdill born to Robert and Ruth Naugle October 17, 1940, in Dalhart, Texas, and was the oldest of five siblings. The family moved south of Karval, Colorado, in 1952.

Bobbie attended school in Sugar City, then attended Karval High School, graduating in 1959.

After graduation, she married Carl Stogsdill. They have four children Tami Stogsdill Green, Bart Stogsdill, Ty Stogsdill and Christy Stogsdill Adams.

2018 Pedal the Plains Route Announced

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper along with the Denver Post Community Foundation, announced Kiowa, Bennett, and Limon as the host communities for this year's Pedal The Plains bike ride.

The 188-mile, three-day tour will take place Sept. 14 - 16. The 2018 Tour includes a new gravel century ride. Registration is now open online at www.pedaltheplains.com.
