  • Wild Horse Roundup-Curtis Shrimp: I guess Marty has a kind of wild life refuge at her ranch. She called saying her dog was jumping as high as he could up a tree and there was a coon. A calf found out there are porcupines. Deer travel through quite often and a few turkeys and some nights the coyotes sing to her.

  • USDA Update-Rod Johnson: The FSA office has been advised we are not able to replace the temporary office position.  All FSA Offices are very short staffed which will most likely cause delays in getting payments issued & other paperwork completed
  • Kiowa County Fair Royalty: The Tiny Tot Princess has been reinstated due to increased interest following several years of absence

  • Hi-Plains Thirteen year old All Stars are the State Baseball Champions. Team members included Demetrius Gilmore, Kenan Gooden, Jacob Buck, Matt Seay and Josh Crow-Eads; Jade Downey, Justin Horn and Mike Gurule - McClave; Ty Trahern, Andrew Maxcy and Curt Connelley of Kit Carson. Coaches were Pat Ward, Bill Connelley and Lane Gooden.

  • The first Kiowa County Garden's Surplus and Community Market place has been scheduled in City Park along Maine St in Eads

 

  • The Eads Babe Ruth team placed first in league play and were undefeated with a 12-0 record.

 

  • Plainview student Chris Stum accepted a Leadership Scholarship to attend Fort Lewis College. Leadership Scholarship recipients' receive 1 year in state tuition credited to their tuition bill.

  • Wild Horse Roundup-Curtis Shrimp: We got one of those small dishes for our television. Now I don't have to hit the control box on top of the TV to get a picture. Marty has about got me trained how to use the control.
