The tickets have been punched for the 2020 CHSAA State Wrestling Championship and seven of our very own County Line Rivals will try their odds at the big show. It was an action packed two days of wrestling in La Junta over the weekend with a lot of highs, a few lows, and even more drama to wrap up the Region 4 tournament. Rocky Ford, the host team, dominated the tournament with 244 points. Lyons and Peyton earned 2nd and 3rd spots with 181 and 171 points respectively.
Coming off another 2nd Place team finish in Crowley County, the County Line Rivals came home with 4- 1st place finishers, 3 - 2nd place finishers, and 1 - 3rd place finisher. Crowley County came away with the 1st place finish with 144 points to County Line's 136.5.
The County Line Rivals wrestling team from Kiowa, Bent and Prowers counties took on Straton Saturday.
The NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association has selected four for the 2020 Hall of Fame class, including Scott Crampton from Lamar Community College
Busy was the best word to describe the week for the County Line Rivals Wrestling team. Uhland and company traveled to Yuma Thursday night for tri-meet with Yuma, and Lamar JV.
The first dual of the night was against Lamar JV with the Savages getting the win 69-9.

In the prime of their season, the County Line Rivals put on a good showing at home over the weekend hosting a 3-team dual at home on Friday and a tournament on Saturday.
Friday night, only a few Rivals had matches in the dual against the powerhouse Peyton. They finished behind the Panthers 36-47.
The County Line Rivals returned to the mats this weekend after and long and restful Christmas break. The team traveled down the road a few miles to Lamar. Being down a few kids to injuries hindered the team score for the Rivals, as they earned into 4thplace with 107 points behind Crowley County, Yuma, and Lamar. The home team ran away with the 1st place trophy with 278 points.
The County Line Rivals shined as a team again this weekend against a plethora of very tough northern teams. The group traveled to Wray on Saturday to join 16 other teams on the mats. At the end of a very long day, the Rivals came out in second place behind the reigning 2A team champions, Wray.
