Weather Outlook – the Week Ahead

Sun will be a key feature for Kiowa County in the coming week, along with a lack of any chance of precipitation.

Sunday will be the warmest day of the week with a high in the upper 70s. Tuesday will only reach the upper 50s, though still warm for this time of year.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny with highs in the 60s, and Friday will see a return of 70 degree weather.

Haswell Spring Dinner and Dance Set

The Town of Haswell will be having a Spring Dinner & Dance on Saturday, March 19, 2016. It will begin at 5:30 pm and be held at the Haswell Community Building. DJ RGB will be providing the music and lighting for our dance. The Dinner & Dance will be $10 for adults, $6 for kids, and $5 admission if they only want to attend the dance. We will also have a cake walk during the dance

Weather Spotter Training Offered

UPDATED - adds newsly-scheduled training in Kiowa County

The National Weather Service in Pueblo provides SKYWARN weather spotter preparedness and training.  Typically, the sessions are scheduled from late March through early May each year, and are a cooperative effort of local government officials and the National Weather Service.  The sessions are free of charge and usually open to everyone unless noted.

Weather Outlook – The Week Ahead

The official start of spring is still weeks away; however, you wouldn't know it from the forecast this week in Kiowa County.

Most of the week will see continuing above-average highs in the mid- to upper-60s, with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. The outlier is Tuesday, with a high in the mid-50s.

There is a slight chance of rain/snow Monday night, while the rest of the week remains dry.

Winds will tend to remain around 10 to 15 miles per hour throughout the week.
