AN ORDINANCE REZONING OF THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS LOTS 6, 7, 8 AND LOTS 13, 14, 15, LANGSTON HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION, A SUSUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF LAMAR, ACCORDING TO THE RECORDED PLAT THEREOF, COUNTY OF PROWERS STATE OF COLORADO ALSO KNOWN AS 1904, 1906, 1908 S.8TH ST; 1903, 1905, 1907 S. 9TH ST.

WHEREAS, proper application was made to the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Lamar, Colorado for the rezoning of an R-1 zone to an R-3 zone.

WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Lamar, Colorado has considered the proposed rezoning of the property known as lots 6, 7, 8 and lots 13, 14, 15, Langston Heights Subdivision, a Subdivision to the City of Lamar, according to the recorded plat thereof, County of Prowers State of Colorado. Also known as 1904, 1906 and 1908 S. 8th St; 1903, 1905 and 1907 S. 9th St.

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning & Zoning Commission on December 3, 2024; and

WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended to the City Council that the property be rezoned from an R-1 zone to an R-3 zone.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAMAR, COLORADO:

  1. That the portion of the subdivision described as: lots 6, 7, 8 and lots 13, 14, 15, Langston Heights Subdivision, a Subdivision to the City of Lamar, according to the recorded plat thereof, County of Prowers State of Colorado. Also known as 1904, 1906 and 1908 S. 8th St; 1903, 1905 and 1907 S. 9th St.

Planning and Zoning met December 3, 2024 to discuss the proposed rezoning of the property known as lots 6, 7, 8 and lots 13, 14, 15, Langston Heights Subdivision, a Subdivision to the City of Lamar, according to the recorded plat thereof, County of Prowers State of Colorado. Also known as 1904, 1906 and 1908 S. 8th St; 1903, 1905 and 1907 S. 9th St. Optimus Construction is the property owner and is requesting the zoning change for the development of the land into future homes.

  1. That the City Clerk and designated City employees are hereby instructed to make all necessary changes to the official map of the City of Lamar to reflect the zoning change.
