James Wesley Chesterman Jr. was born March 21, 1936, in Cheyenne Wells to James and Opal (Kinder) Chesterman.  He passed away at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar May 12, 2026, at the age of 90.

James is survived by his children, Carson Chesterman, Holly Pettinger, and Nadelle Wollert; grandchildren, Cody, Chase, Cale, Heather, Courtney, Derek, Colton, Kelcy, and Taryn; great grandchildren, Truvy, Graceyn, and another arriving soon; sisters, Jeanie and Linda; many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Opal Chesterman; brother, Warren; granddaughter, Bailey; and sister, Ruth.

Per James’ request, cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Valley Funeral and Cremation.
