Governor Polis appoints Donald P. Delaney to Larimer County Court
Colorado Governor Polis appointed Donald P. Delaney to the Larimer County Court in the 8th Judicial District last week. The appointment fills a new judgeship created by Senate Bill 25-024 and is effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. Delaney has been serving as a Magistrate in the 8th Judicial District since 2025, handling juvenile matters. Prior to this role, he was Managing Partner at the Delaney Law Firm, PLLC (2018-2025, 2010-2012) and Managing Partner at Diamond Global Partners, LLC (2012-2018). He also served as a Senior Associate at Labaton Sucharow, LLP (2006-2010), Assistant Attorney General at the New York State Attorney General’s Office (2004-2006), Public Defender at the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, New York (2003-2004), and Associate at Mayer Brown, LLP (2001-2003). Mr. Delaney earned his B.S. from New York University in 1996 and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2001.
Colorado's 8th Judicial District includes Larimer and Jackson counties.
