Governor Polis Appoints Jeffrey D. Ruff to the 17th Judicial District Court
Colorado Governor Jared Polis has appointed Jeffrey D. Ruff to the 17th Judicial District Court. This vacancy was created by the retirement of the Honorable Roberto Ramírez and was effective January 6, 2024.
Ruff is a Shareholder and President of Ruff & Tartar, P.C., positions he has held since 2013. His practice consists of dependency and neglect, juvenile delinquency, and truancy matters. Previously, he was Manager/Owner (2008-2013) and Shareholder (2003-2008) at Ruff & Tureson, P.C. and The Ruff Law Firm, LLC, the predecessor firms to Ruff & Tartar; Associate Attorney at Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison & Lewis, P.C. (2001-2003); Project Attorney at Toeroek Associates, Inc. (2000-2001); and Contract Attorney at Spherion Pacific/Interim Legal Services (1999-2000).
He earned his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Montana in 1996 and 1999, respectively.
Colorado’s 17th Judicial District includes Adams and Broomfield counties.
