Larry E. McNeely

August 14, 1941- December 21, 2019

Larry E. McNeely, 78, died December 21, 2019, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse, Kansas. He was born August 14, 1941, at Kit Carson to Robert and Julia (Wilkerson) McNeely.

Larry graduated from Kit Carson High School and started ranching in the Cheyenne County area. He went to work for Colorado Interstate Gas Company in Kit Carson, and later was transferred to Eads and then in 1971 transferred to Lakin, Kansas. He retired as a Supervisor for CIG.

He enjoyed playing golf, his coffee group at the senior center, and especially traveling to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Justin Lane; and great grandson, Gannon Warden.

He is survived by his son, Jeff McNeely of Goodland, Kansas; daughter, Dana Lane of Lakin; brothers, Mark McNeely of Alabama, Gary McNeely of Kit Carson, Bob McNeely of Kit Carson, Don McNeely of Colorado Springs, Mike Bashford of Loveland and Alan McNeely of Denver; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held December 30 at the Wesleyan Church in Lakin with Pastor Chris McFadden officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. the Kit Carson Cemetery in Kit Carson.
