Tanner Scott Hougham

June 8, 1993 - November 2, 2020

Tanner Scott Hougham, 27, of Burlington, died November 2, 2020. Tanner was born in Goodland, Kansas, June 8, 1993, to Richard and Benita Hougham. He was welcomed home to Arapahoe by his big sister, Jessica, and soon met his brother, Tim.

Tanner attended school in Cheyenne Wells and was well known by all. He spent the last 11 years with his high school sweetheart Krystle Chuma. They moved to Burlington to start their life together. There he worked at Triple A Meat, where he took a lot of pride in his work and, as he put it, “Krystle kept the home fire burning.”

He spent his time playing with Legos, fishing, camping, jumping off cliffs, skiing, shooting, campfires, woodworking, hunting, being with friends and family.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Krystle; their fish, Mr. Fishy Guy; his father, Richard (Darlene) Hougham of Lamar; sisters, Jessica (Carrie) Hougham of Rockvale, Tammy Delarosa of Lamar, and Billie Jo (Lanning) Peterson of Eads; brother, Tim Hougham of Kansas; many aunts, uncles and cousins; nephews Damien, Marcos, Joey, Dalton, and Juan; niece, Bianca, and more friends than can be counted.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Benita Hougham; grandparents, Robert and Betty Hoffman, and Richard and Mary Hougham; brother, Justin Murdock; nephew, Jason Lease; and niece, Tara Jo Burk.

We deeply appreciate and gratefully acknowledge your kind expression of sympathy. It will always be remembered by the family. Thank you.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Cheyenne County Community Building at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds in Cheyenne Wells. Graveside committal services will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Cheyenne Wells at 11:30 a.m.
