Alvin Lee Davis, of Haswell passed away November 22, 2024.

Alvin was born on the family homestead near Aguilar to Estel and Josephine Davis October 30, 1942.

Alvin and his older sister and brother attended school in a one room schoolhouse not far from the family homestead until he was in middle school. After that, he would ride his horse to town to attend school and stay the week with the teacher, every Friday he got out of school early to make sure he got back home before dark.

After graduation he moved to Oklahoma to work in the oil fields as a pipeline welder. There he met the love of his life, Diane Louderback. They were married in March 1961, and had the privilege of spending 62 years together.  Three children, Malinda, Colleen, and Candie were born to this union.

In 1966, Alvin moved his family back to Colorado to help his father with the family farm that was just purchased in La Junta. Alvin would also work at the local sales barns.

In 1989, Alvin and Diane moved to Wildhorse, where Alvin took the job as the ranch forman for the J.O.D. Ranch. He was back doing what he loved - he never enjoyed the farming life. His passion was ranching.

After retirement, Alvin and Diane moved to the small town of Haswell.
