Delisa Lee (Eikenberg) Weeks, 61, of Eads passed away August 15, 2025, at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. She was born January 24, 1964, to Delores Leona (Walker) and Delmer Louis Eikenberg in Brush, Colorado.
Delisa attended Haswell Elementary and graduated with the Class of 1982 from Eads High School, where she was a standout athlete in basketball and track. She was known for her strong rebounding and long-distance running, and she still holds the EHS record in the two-mile.
While in school, she met classmate Michael Dea Weeks, though it wasn’t love at first sight. After graduation, their friendship grew into love, and August 13, 1983, they were married at Eads Methodist Church. Together they made their home in Eads and raised their family.
Delisa dedicated her life to caring for others and serving her community. She worked for the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office as a dispatcher for 20 years before being elected Kiowa County Clerk, where she was serving her third term. In addition to those responsibilities, in 2002 she also became a CNA at Weisbrod Health, working weekends for 23 years. She cared for patients and families with compassion, and built lasting friendships with her co-workers, many of whom fondly remember her Friday night shifts.
Her faith was central to her life. A devoted member of the Eads Methodist Church, she attended faithfully and served in many roles over the years. It was also the church where she made sure her grandchildren, Taite and Tailee, were active in Sunday School, wanting them to grow up with a strong foundation of faith.
Beyond her career and church, Delisa loved the farm and ranching life. She always looked forward to calving season, often keeping newborn calves warm on blankets in her living room during freezing nights. Her loyal dog, Boz, was her constant companion, joining her on early morning walks to watch the sunrise before work. Most of all, Delisa cherished her role as “Nana.” She shared countless adventures with her grandchildren, from four-wheeler rides to cheering from the stands at their events, always proud of the time spent with them.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Weeks of Eads; children, Skyler Weeks and wife Brandi of Holly, and Darci Weeks and Justin Crow of Eads; grandchildren, Taite Weeks-Johnson and wife Kylie of Grand Junction, Tailee Weeks-Johnson of Eads, and Halli Thompson and Bravon Kraft, both of Holly; siblings, Delmar Eikenberg and wife Cindy of Severance, Delene Degroot and husband Roger of Hanover, and Delton Eikenberg of Haswell; and brother-in-law, Allen Davison of Wray.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Delores Eikenberg; brother, Delcarl Eikenberg; sister, Delinda Davison; and sister-in-law, Marlynn Eikenberg.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. August 23, 2025, at Eads Community Church (Methodist Church) with Pastor Lane Gooden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Weisbrod Health, designated for the Long-Term Care Unit, in care of Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, P.O. Box 1200, Sublette, KS 67877.
Arrangements are under the direction of Weeks Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
