Lois Annette (Wissel) Elliston, 84, of Windsor passed away October 27, 2025, from her long battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Lois was born July 29, 1941, in Lamar, one of three girls from Roberta Marie Blooding.
Lois graduated from Eads High School, then went on to beauty school in Denver, becoming a licensed beautician. She then moved to Fort Collins finding work at a local beauty shop, and found the love of her life.
Lois married Roeland Elliston February 24, 1962, at Colorado State Campus Chapel. She then supported her new family while Roeland finished his degree.
Together, they raised four children, moving multiple places with Roeland’s work until he retired in Windsor. Unfortunately, Roeland passed in 2012 soon after their 50th wedding anniversary.
Lois last worked, and retired, with Hancock Fabric, but worked varies jobs throughout her life, and even ran and owned the local flower shop in Morrill, Nebraska. Her hobbies were varied and in-depth. She taught crocheting, knitting, and sewing to 4-H children. She painted beautiful landscape pictures, and did intense home improvement projects. During her last years, she enjoyed quilting for all her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to decorate for the holidays, and donated many articles for the battered women’s shelter.
Remaining to cherish Lois’s memory are her children, Annette McDaniel, and Sonya Chitwood, Ron Elliston; grandchildren, Cassie Zigler, Zach Hoffschneider, Jerry McDaniel, Ryker Elliston, and Camden Elliston; great-grandchildren, Teryn Bruening, Lila Thayden, Brighton Thayden, RJ Zigler, Ember Zigler, and Percy Zigler; and sisters, Madonna Pollreis, Phyllis Griswould.
Preceding Lois in death are spouse, Roeland; child, LaNae Potter; and grandchild, Kandra Thydean.
Services were held November 7, 2025, at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Graveside services were held at the Eaton Cemetery in Eaton.
