Pam, age 87, was born in Eads to James (Red) Lane and Velma Lane in a little house near the Eads Schoolhouse where the midwife lived. Today it is now known as the lunchroom.

Pam grew up in Eads in a farmhouse 3 miles north and 3 miles west of Eads. She had many happy memories from the farmhouse and remembers every week her sisters Tressie and Janice and she would have to haul two buckets of water to each tree in the lane so they wouldn’t die in the hot prairie wind. Many of those trees remain in the lane by the old farmhouse.

As a young woman Pam married George Hendricks and had four children. They lived in Missouri and Colorado.

In 1974 Pam married Ted Addington and they had many happy years together on the ranch one mile north of Eads until his death in 1996. She relocated to Farmington, New Mexico, for a time.

Pam married Rich Hockett later in life and lived in Eads and returned to Farmington in 2014 where they resided until their deaths. Although they enjoyed Farmington, Eads was always home to them.

Pam is preceded in death by her parents James (Red) Lane and Velma Lane, one brother: Reggie Lane, four sisters: Vertie Scott, Elda Brock, Doris Walther, Janice Fleming, one son: Gary Hendricks, and one grandson: Jami Green.

Pam is survived by two sisters: Tressie Pittier and Esther Brown. She is also survived by three children, Pamela Green, Terri (Mike) Pettyjohn and David Hendricks and special daughter-in-law Donna Hendricks, seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Hendricks) Delgado, Kimberlee (Hendricks) Esparza, Derrick Green, Elizabeth (Pettyjohn) Broten, Stephanie Pettyjohn, Michael Pettyjohn, Trenton Pettyjohn, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.

When she lived in Eads Pam was a member of the Prairie Piecers Quilt Guild. She was mentored in quilting by master quilters Sarah Bottorff, Hazel Krueger and Gloria Peck. They placed many times in the Kiowa County Fair and Colorado State Fair. After moving to Farmington in 2014 she joined the Piece Makers for Christ. Two years ago she won 1st Place, Best of Show and People’s Choice at the San Juan County Fair. Pam was addicted to quilting and a hoarder of all things quilting. Even in death, she will continue blessing fellow quilters with her accumulation of fabric and notions.

Pam was a fervent contributor of countless charity quilts to Project Linus, many quilts for the Farmington Police Department to give to children in trauma situations as well as quilts to celebrate adoptions at Farmington District Court, and beautiful quilts for children temporarily displaced from their homes at Navajo Mission Children’s Home.

Pam excelled at canning, applique, quilting, cross stitching and the art of making a beautiful, welcoming home.

Pam’s favorite Bible verse was “Whatsoever you do, do it heartily unto the Lord and not unto man.” 1 John 1:9. She was a life-long hard worker, whether it be in the home or helping others. She never sought recognition or glory for her efforts and achievements but preferred to remain in the background.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held October 10, 2026 at 10:00 am at Praise Community Church at Eads, CO with internment following at the Eads Cemetery. Pastor Keith Corley will be the officiant.

Arrangements are being handled by Farmington Funeral Home and Brown Funeral Home.
