Ryan James Phillips of Fowler passed away unexpectedly August 2, 2024. He was born February 26, 1983, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Ron Lee Phillips. He grew up in Kinsley, Kansas, until the age of 12, when the family moved to Haswell. Ryan attended Las Animas High School through 10th grade, then moved to Eads, graduating in 2001.

Ryan was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and Nino. His family, especially his children, were his pride and joy. You could see and hear him cheering on his kids, as well as his nephews, every chance he had. Ryan was “a jack of all trades.” Ryan was very creative with his welding and metal projects.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Natalie Phillips; children, Tracer, Declynn, Taten, and Stetson Phillips; father, Ron Phillips; in-laws, Joe and Martha Gonzales; sisters, Rachelle Martin and Shayna Phillips; nephews, Jacob, Caleb, and Jackson O'Connor; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don and Charlotte Phillips and other members of the Phillips family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ryan’s name.  Memorial funds have been set up at First National Bank of Las Animas and GN Bank in Eads

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ryan Phillips will be held at 10:00 a.m., and Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Las Animas.  Cremation to follow. 

 A memorial will be held at Praise Community Church in Eads at 10:00 a.m. August 31, 2024, with inurnment to follow at the Eads Cemetery.
