Tead Travis Seat

August 18, 1981 - July 4, 2023

Tead Travis Seat was born August 18, 1981, in La Junta to Terry and Dana Seat. He passed away July 4, 2023.  

Tead began his life south of Las Animas and, in 1987, moved to Commerce City, where he attended his first year of school.  Then, the following year, moved back to Las Animas, where he attended Columbian Elementary.  In 1992, he moved to Stratton, where he finished out his school years at Stratton Middle/High School.  After high school, Tead attended two years of college at Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas.  

Tead enjoyed the agricultural part of life.  As a kid, he participated in gymkhanas and did any event he possibly could.  He was active in 4-H, and enjoyed showing horses and steers.  

Tead enjoyed playing sports, and excelled in football and wrestling throughout his school years.  

Then Tead got into the Little Britches Rodeo Association and enjoyed team roping and bareback riding.  It did not take Tead long to fall in love with the thrill of bareback riding, which took him further in his life than he thought.  He went on to further is rodeo career as he rode barebacks in college and went on to ride in CPRA, KPRA, and PRCA rodeos.  

Along came another love for Tead, as he soon had four beautiful daughters of his own, Tealyn, Jaelyn, Riggin, and Meegan.  

Tead worked in the feedlots around the area, and then got on with the Colorado State Board of Stock Inspection.  He worked in the Logan County and Kit Carson County areas.   

Tead took another road and went to work as a welder at New Ages Industrial at Norton, Kansas.  

Tead is preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother Clodfelter, grandfather and grandmother Seat, and brother, Trent Seat.  

Tead is survived by his daughters, Tealyn, Jaelyn, Riggin, and Meegan Seat of Burlington; parents, Terry and Dana Seat of Stratton; sister and spouse, Taina and Cody Beeson of Stratton; and nieces, Kortney, Bailey, and Riley Beeson of Stratton.  He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
