It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Trey James Thayer, January 12, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. Trey was born June 19, 1989, in Cheyenne Wells to Jim Thayer and Tammy Harris.
Trey spent much of his life in Manter, Kansas, where he built a life filled with love and laughter. He was known for his warm heart, hardworking nature, and ability to fix just about anything. Trey loved the outdoors: fishing, camping, and enjoying nature were among his favorite pastimes. These moments brought him peace and joy, and he often shared them with his children and loved ones.
A special part of Trey’s life was the companionship of his beloved dogs. Whether out on a fishing trip, camping under the stars, or simply enjoying a quiet moment at home, his dogs were always by his side. Their loyalty and friendship brought him comfort and happiness, and they were truly part of his family.
Above all, Trey cherished his two children, Tavea and Trinity Thayer, who were the light of his life. His love for them was immeasurable, and his memory will live on through them and all who knew him.
Trey Thayer is preceded in death by his father, Jim Thayer; grandmother, Joy Thayer; and grandmother, Shirley Stewart.
He is survived by his mother, Tammy Harris; children, Tavea and Trinity Thayer; sister, Trista Pryor; grandparents, Vern and Joann Harris; and grandfather, Jim Thayer.
