Obituary - Vada Mast

Vada Mast, 84, of Plainview, Texas, passed away peacefully January 15, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Vada was born December 24, 1939, to Elvin and Burness Gibbs in Clovis, New Mexico.  She married the love of her life, William V. Mast, June 1, 1957, in Kit Carson.  

Vada was a homemaker for her family.  She loved the Lord first and foremost.  She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ, and loved being with her brothers and sisters in Christ.  

She enjoyed family gatherings, especially the times she got to be with her great grandkids. She loved to travel anywhere her journey took her. Her spare time was spent performing water aerobics and dancing. She was a people person, and her laugh will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Sherri Sullivan of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Dio Harris, Alisha Harris, Krista Harris, Eric Sullivan, Kyle Sullivan, and Holly and husband Chris Coker; 11 great-grandchildren; andsister, Frances Criswell of Idaho Springs, Colorado.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Burness Gibbs; husband, William V. Mast; daughter, Verline Linville;brothers, Garland Gibbs and Bennie Gibbs; and sisters, Evelyn Spell and Barbara Halderman.

A memorial service was held Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Bartley Memorial Chapel.  

Arrangements were under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
