- About Town- Doris Lessenden & Melissa Peterson: In one week, the Weisbrod Hospital front door steps were ripped out and cement stones are being used as a base for the entry way with a long ramp.

- Eads School District RE-1 reported the enrollment of 100 students in the high school.
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: Tuesday we had the unusual: 0.70 inches of rain. Saturday was the usual - lots of storm clouds that went around us.

- Lance Wall was named World Champion Jr. Boy Goat Tier at the Little Britches Rodeo.
- Frank Jacobs is carrying on tradition of his father, John E., winning not only Grand Champion, but Reserve Champion and first in all three of the hybrid sorghum classes.

- Governor Lamm pledged the full resources of the state to help stop the cattle mutilation and arrest the persons responsible.
- Walter I. Immer of Eads has been nominated for the Safe Driver of the Month award sponsored by The Denver Post, Colorado State Patrol, and The United Bank of Denver.

- New feature at the Kiowa County Fair and Rodeo will be a presentation of a night rodeo.
