Pee Wee Wrestling Practice Set to Start

By Coach Bart Michael

It is time to start Pee Wee wrestling practice. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all students preschool through eighth grade, ages 3 through 14, to try wrestling. It is my opinion, that your child will enjoy this rewarding experience.

Pee Wee Wrestlers are not required to attend a specific number of tournaments, although more mat time equals a better wrestler. I would like to encourage that if the child wishes to wrestle at the tournaments and wear the Eagle Uniform and Represent our school that they attend practice regularly, as wrestling is not only an individual sport but a team sport also. I also encourage parents and wrestlers to participate in the Eads Junior Olympics Tournament.

Our first practice will be Tuesday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m. Practices will be pre-planned and as well organized as possible. We will make every effort to stick to the practice schedule. All Practices will last approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours.

Once again, singlets will be provided by the Eads Junior Olympics Wrestling Club along with a $50 deposit. Please make a check for this amount and we will hold It. If the singlet is not returned with in 7 days of the last tournament your check will be cashed. However we do need all the singlets that are available, as we seem not to be getting them all returned each year. So if you have any singlets from previous years, Please return them at the first practice. This will allow us time to get a count on what we do have and a chance to order what we may need before our first tournament.

Remember there is also a $15 registration fee per wrestler to help offset equipment and other incidental cost that help make this program possible.

Finally I would like to have a short parent meeting after the first practice. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. Bart Michael @ 719 (688-0316)
