$302 Million Jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball Drawing
There are a few hours left to buy your chance to win over $300 million. Though Wednesday evening’s Powerball drawing is far from a record, tickets are still selling briskly for the chance at a worry-free life of ease.
Drawings for the jackpot – one of two major national lottery games offered in Colorado – are held each Wednesday and Saturday evening at 8:59 mountain time. Tickets must be purchased by 7:30 p.m. the day of the drawing.
This Wednesday’s drawing has an estimated annuitized top prize of $302 million, paid in 30 installments over 29 years. Winners can also choose a lump-sum cash payment of just over $187 million. Ticket sales throughout the day may drive the prize value higher.
The jackpot was most recently won April 1 when the prize stood at a mere $60 million.
In addition to the jackpot, the game offers eight other levels of prizes, ranging from $4 to $2 million, depending upon the combination of numbers drawn and whether a player chooses the Power Play option. Tickets cost $2 each; the Power Play option adds $1 to the cost.
Colorado also participates in the Mega Millions game, which has drawings each Tuesday and Friday. The jackpot for that game currently stands at an estimated $74 million.
In Eads, tickets for either game may be purchased at Hometown Gas & Grill or the Love’s travel center.
Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games - Lotto, Lucky for Life, Cash 5, Pick 3, Mega Millions, Powerball and Scratch - enhance, protect, and improve parks, recreation areas, wildlife, trails and open space in Colorado. For 33 years, the Lottery has returned more than $2.9 billion to outdoor projects in the state of Colorado through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado Parks & Wildlife.
