Ag stats: Kansas crop progress and condition report – week ending November 20, 2022

For the week ending November 20, 2022, there were 6.1 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 43 percent very short, 32 percent short, 25 percent adequate, and 0 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 50 percent very short, 36 percent short, 14 percent adequate, and 0 percent surplus. 

Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 20 percent very poor, 20 percent poor, 36 percent fair, 22 percent good, and 2 percent excellent. Emerged was 81 percent, behind 89 percent last year and 88 percent for the five-year average. 

Soybeans harvested was 96 percent, ahead of 91 percent last year and near 92 percent average. 

Sorghum harvested was 95 percent, ahead of 90 percent last year and 88 percent average. 

Cotton harvested was 85 percent, well ahead of 45 percent last year and 43 percent average. 

Sunflowers harvested was 93 percent, near 92 percent last year, and ahead of 87 percent average. 

Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 48 percent very poor, 29 percent poor, 18 percent fair, 5 percent good, and 0 percent excellent.
