Ag stats: Kansas crop progress and condition report – week ending November 21, 2021

For the week ending November 21, 2021, there were 6.7 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 13% very short, 26% short, 59% adequate, and 2% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 14% very short, 26% short, 58% adequate, and 2% surplus. 

Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 3% very poor, 7% poor, 29% fair, 50% good, and 11% excellent. Winter wheat emerged was 89%, near 91% last year and 90% for the five-year average. 

Soybeans harvested was 92%, behind 97% last year, and near 94% average. 

Sorghum harvested was 91%, near 94% last year and 90% average. 

Cotton condition rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 38% fair, 50% good, and 4% excellent. Cotton harvested was 47%, near 50% last year, and equal to average. 

Sunflowers harvested was 93%, near 94% last year, but ahead of 88% average. 

Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 9% very poor, 17% poor, 38% fair, 35% good, and 1% excellent.
