Bent’s Fort Chapter to Hold Annual Meeting February 11

The Bent's Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association will hold its Annual Meeting on February 11, 2017 in the Grand Room of the JW Rawlings Heritage Center and Museum in Las Animas.  The Museum is located at 560 Bent Avenue (corner of Hwy 50 and 5th St.) in Las Animas.

The Chapter business meeting will start at 11:00 AM.  The meeting will include a discussion of the upcoming events planned for 2017 as well as vote on an update to the Chapter bylaws.  There will also be a brief presentation on the status of the Goodnight Barn Restoration project.  The Goodnight Barn is located west of Pueblo.  The business meeting will be followed by a catered lunch at noon.  The cost of the catered lunch is $10 per person. After lunch Chapter members Mike and Patti Olsen will give a talk, "Those Literate Ladies: Women Writing on the Santa Fe Trail."  

Membership in the Bent’s Fort Chapter is $15 per year.  To find out more about the Chapter or to make luncheon reservations, please call Pat Palmer at 719-931-4323 by Sunday, February 5. The Bent’s Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and preserve the Santa Fe Trail and to promote awareness of the historical legacy associated with it.
