Bent’s Old Fort launches new bilingual Junior Ranger program with special event
Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site will host a special “Junior Ranger Day” May 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., officially launching its brand-new bilingual Junior Ranger book. The free event offers children the opportunity to explore the fort and complete activities related to the new program.
Park Rangers will be stationed throughout Bent’s Old Fort to guide young participants through the activities and answer questions. Completion of all tasks earns aspiring Junior Rangers a badge, with additional prizes available for those who go above and beyond.

Participants should meet at the shade shelter in the park's parking lot to receive their Junior Ranger book and instructions. The program is self-paced but organizers recommend allowing at least 90 minutes to complete it.
Visitors are advised to dress appropriately for the weather, including layers, hats, and sunscreen, and wear sturdy shoes. Bringing water is also recommended.
More information about the Junior Ranger program and other upcoming events at Bent’s Old Fort can be found on the park website or by following their Facebook page. Information regarding the ongoing reconstruction of the fort is also available online.
