Bicycle crash leads to drowning death in Boulder Creek
A 65-year-old woman died Friday afternoon following a bicycle crash near Boulder Canyon and Four Mile Canyon.
Personnel from several agencies responded shortly after 4:00 p.m. when emergency calls reported a person floating face down in Boulder Creek. Preliminary reports indicate that the woman was riding e-bikes with her husband along the bike path near the creek when she fell off her bike and into the water.
Efforts to revive the woman began immediately, including CPR and other life support measures, but were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Officials have not released her name.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says the incident highlights the importance of safety, especially near water sources which may appear calm but can be hazardous, and urges awareness of the potential dangers around water.
