CBI assisting in Alamosa County homicide investigation; suspect sought

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office in a homicide investigation following an incident reported Sunday evening in Alamosa County.
Deputies responded at approximately 6:20 p.m. March 1 to a home in the 3000 block of Lincoln Avenue after receiving a report of a 49-year-old man who was unconscious and not breathing, according to authorities.
Upon arrival, deputies located a dead man inside the residence with visible injuries. A female who reported the incident was located and interviewed at the scene.
The Alamosa County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
Investigators are actively searching for Fernando Rodriguez, 44, of Alamosa. Authorities believe Rodriguez may be driving a green 1995 Subaru station wagon with Colorado license plate AXO-F61.

The Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Alamosa Police Department, and the Colorado State Patrol on the investigation.
Authorities advised the public not to approach Rodriguez. Anyone with information about the incident or Rodriguez’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office at 719-589-5807.
