CBI seeks leads two months after Center homicide, $10,000 reward still available

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation reported July 22, 2026, that no new leads have been received in the December 2025 homicide in Saguache County of 78-year-old Charles William "Bill" McClure of Center, Colorado, despite a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Officers from the Center Police Department discovered McClure deceased inside his residence off E. Highway 112 on the morning of December 23, 2025. Local construction workers who had arrived on-site to build a garage alerted authorities after not seeing the homeowner for several days.

Investigators determined McClure was last seen alive on Friday, December 19, 2025. Authorities are seeking information about any suspicious activity in the area between December 19 and December 23, 2025.

The CBI is leading the investigation with support from the Center Police Department, the Saguache County Sheriff's Office, and the Colorado State Patrol Regional Dispatch Center. The Saguache County Board of Commissioners is also coordinating with investigators.

As the investigation remains active, no details regarding the cause of death or evidence collected at the scene will be released at this time.
